Joan McGrath has appeared in a wealth of PFP projects, most recently as Peggy Musgrove in the Steppenwolf Garage Rep production of Angry Fags and as Mrs. Tilford in The Children’s Hour (both Jeff Recommended). She is an enthusiastic participant in the staged readings at PFP’s playwriting and screenwriting festivals. Among other recent credits: The President (Oracle Theatre), Blithe Spirit (Piccolo Theatre), F**king A (Urban Theatre Company), Marisol and Look Homeward Angel (The Artistic Home), The Diary of Anne Frank and Lend Me A Tenor (Metropolis Performing Arts), All My Sons (u/s TimeLine Theatre), The Balcony (Goat Song Theatre), Questa (People’s Theatre), A Passage to India (Vitalist Productions), The Oldest Profession (Bailiwick Repertory), Women on Fire (Merely Players), Agnes of God (Northminster Players), The Lion in Winter (North Shore Theatre), Middle-Aged White Guys (Open Eye Productions) and the John Mossman-directed movie Into the Wake (Diesel Brothers Films). A theatre graduate from Northwestern University, Joan spent many years on the air as host of “The Joan McGrath Show” on WGN Radio, “Gamut” on WMAQ-TV, “Dimensions” on WSNS-TV and The Illinois State Lottery. By day, she is partner in the executive media/presentation consulting firm Pedersen/McGrath Assoc. Ltd.
