Gail Hackston is a writer/director based in London. Starting her career in the late 1990s in Scotland, she worked on a number of shorts on the popular Tartan Shorts and First Reel strands. Moving to London, she spent 15 years in Sales and Marketing for various media companies before coming back to filmmaking in recent years.
In 2012, Gail produced Crowdsourced feature film 50 Kisses with the London Screenwriters Festival and short film “Spare Change”.
Having directed many student films in the late 1990s, Gail is back behind the camera with short film, Cancer Hair. Gail has another short film in development for 2014 and is developing her feature script “Green Door”, winner of Pride Film and Plays, Women’s Work Festival 2013.
