As Pride Films and Plays gears up for the opening of the Pride Arts Center in January, we are happy to announce that SheFest – formerly known as LezFest – will move from Mary’s Attic and for the first time be performed in The Broadway at 4139 N Broadway.
SheFest (formerly LezFest) is a one-night variety show which celebrates queer, female-identified artists through music, movement, spoken word, storytelling, and stand-up comedy. It is co-produced by PFP company members Carolyn Reynolds and Kenzie Seibert and is directed by Tess Guilfoile.
This year’s SheFest is Monday, December 12 at 7:30, and tickets are $15 for reserved seats and $10 for general admission tickets which can be purchased by calling 1 800 737 0984 or online at www.pridefilmsandplays.com.
SheFest is a production of PFP’s team developing works with lesbian characters or themes which are essential viewing for all audiences. The winner of 2015’s LezPlay contest was RESOLUTION, which has now been giving a full staged, Jeff Recommended production at Rivendell Theater, 5779 N Ridge, through November 20. And this spring, PFP is delighted to present the world premiere of Gina F ‘s comedy For The Love Of (or The Roller Derby Play) in The Buena, the 50-seat theater at 4147 N Broadway which is a part of the Pride Arts Center.
PFP’s LezPlay Incubator meets on the first Sunday of each month and all artists interested in participating in the development of new lesbian work are invited to attend. Email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
