“I love this organization and the work they do. Art that is celebratory, healing and inclusive. Pride Films and Plays, I’m honored to be a small part of your wonderful community.”
– Capathia Jenkins, Honorary Board Member
We’re so proud to have Broadway star Capathia Jenkins in our PFP family. She’s someone who truly “gets it.” You, too, are someone who understands the value of high quality theater that shares the stories and struggles of our community. We can’t do this without you!
In the past year, PFP has grown and expanded. At our new home at Pride Arts Center, we’ve been able to stage our first big musical, Priscilla, Queen of the Desert, and provide a home to other Chicago artists who share our mission of creativity and inclusivity, including resident companies Underscore Music Theater and Red Tape, among many others.
We’ve come a long way from our little rehearsal space on Wilson Avenue. But our need for your support is greater than ever.
That’s why we’re asking you to formally join the PFP family as a Wilson Society member. The Wilson Society is a foundational group of PFP supporters who make monthly donations of any size to show their continued commitment to our mission. Monthly donations are very important to PFP because they allow us to better address our recurring expenses and budget for the future. By joining the Wilson Society, you’ll be a part of our core supporters, and we will occasionally invite you to special rehearsals, readings and parties throughout the year. And to say thanks for joining, if you set up your monthly donation between now and May 1, you’ll get two free tickets to Nominee Night—our annual blockbuster celebration of Jeff Award nominees—on May 23.
Our monthly goal is $5000, and we are Our house is only as strong as our foundation. For the price of a lunch per month, you can support the bedrock of our work. Please chip in today!
