Call for Submissions: Pride Films & Plays Seeks Short Plays for History Lezons Festival We already observe Women’s History Month. Now it’s time to celebrate Women-Loving-Women’s History Month.   (And by “women,” we mean anyone who is female-identified.) Pride Films & Plays is seeking short plays about women who refine, define, and redefine the expression “out with the old.”  Whether you’re spotlighting women once considered yester-gay’s news or reminiscing of days gone bi, we want to pay homage to the formidable fortitude of our foremothers, be they factual figures in history or fictional figures of your own creation.  As long as your play explores some aspect of women-loving-women’s history, it can be set in any historical time period and can be in any genre.  The “History Lezons” festival of short plays will be curated by Allison L. PFP Announces LezPlay Contest

  Want to see more Sapphic stories onstage and onscreen? Then enter Pride Films & Plays’ LezPlay Contest! The mission of LezPlay is to honor excellence in storytelling by women-identified writers who present lesbian characters and themes—past, present, and future—in a pivotal, positive way. The LezPlay Contest is open to playwrights and screenwriters who identify as women. We want stories that elevate and celebrate us, refine and redefine us. We want to introduce audiences to writers whose work reflects, resonates with, and is relevant to their lives. We want stories that have a broad appeal, stories that will enable us to reach individuals of all ages and in all stages of life. From now until our extended deadline of June 15, we welcome submissions of full-length scripts from writers who identify as women. Only scripts that have not been professionally produced are eligible. Scripts that have been submitted in the past are eligible for resubmission only once and only if the script has been radically revised. We are seeking scripts from women of all stripes and types.
